First St. Patrick's LeprechaunTrap 2012

A leprechaun (Irish: leipreachán) is a type of fairy in Irish folklore, usually taking the form of an old man, clad in a red or green coat, who enjoys partaking in mischief.
So before St. Patrick's Day this year 2012 I order a cute kids book that discusses how kids build and set traps to try to catch mischief Leprechaun's on St. Patrick's Eve for their gold. Well Kaitlyn was so ready to build her first Leprechaun trap after reading her this book.

I just happened to see this Leprechaun trap on a blog just days before. I thought it was super cute and I already had the supplies needed in my craft arsenal to make it.
Top view of the leprechaun trap. The plan- The leprechaun is suppose to climb the latter after reading the sign that their is gold at the top of the large Leprechaun hat. When he goes for the faux gold coin he falls through the fake material into the trap.
The leprechaun trap set and ready to catch that little guy and his gold. We had so much fun making this together and even the Hubby took part. When it was complete Kaitlyn was so happy she could not wait to show everyone whom came to visit.

So we did not catch a leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day but he did leave us some chocolate gold coins.
The book warned you that Leprechaun's can be mischief little guys and I guess that is so true since are Dining Room got toilet papered, the toilet was dyed green and the milk also was turned green. Kaitlyn enjoyed ever minute of it and that is priceless!!!

Cupcake Skirt made with Tulle

Cupcake Skirt- Well this seems to be my new thing making everything with tulle!!! I love those tutu's with tulle but everyone who makes them knows after a couple wears they get all tangled and nasty looking. But tulle is cheap and every girly, girl wants a cute tutu. Factor in my love for the glitz dresses on "Toddlers and Tiaras" Well in a search for how to make them I came up with my own version. Tulle and fishing line???  Yes, you read correctly Tulle and my Hubby's fishing line!! Actually my Hubby did not have heavy enough line so Wal- Mart $3.00 for 50lb. fishing line works great. That's what gives the tulle that curly, curl at the bottom edge and I love the look. No more tangled messes for my Princess!! I also love that puffy look they get!!

Second Ladies Night Creations

My Second Ladies Craft Night we made Faux Apothecary jars:

Table and mantle-top apothecary jars are a classic look in decorating, but a real budget buster. Recreate the look and feel of apothecary jars with some DIY Dollar Store magic. Turn candle sticks and jars into faux apothecary jars.

First Ladies Night Creations

So my first Ladies Craft Night we made from pinterest was the following:

Large 10x13 picture frame, ribbon and a metal serving tray from Dollar Tree with the center painted with chalkboard paint. With a piece of chalk you can write what ever message you would like your guest to read or see when they come knocking at your front door!!! it was neat to see how everyone put their own spin on this project!! Happy Crafting!!

Busy Living and Crafting

Sorry about the lack of post but sometimes life is busy! My Family always comes first and I have not stopped crafting. My Hubby gave me a great gift this year when I got my own space- my new craft room. So busy working on the new craft room and family along with life. I've been busy!! Picture's of the new craft room coming soon. One thing I'm proud to say, is my crafts and craft room is always about saving money and making it for less.

Tulle Skirt w/ Ribbon

So 2011-2012 has been the year for tulle. I have made more cute creations this year using tulle. So this was my original skirt with a ribbon edging. Picture's coming soon of my new creation the cupcake skirt!!

Valentine's Day Dress- Sewing

At a certain age for kids it becomes hard to find cute holiday themed clothing. My daughter is 4 years old but on the tall side. So it's a good thing Momma can sew... so that she as a kid can celebrate all themed holidays and she can still look simply adorable!

Themed Birthday Shirt- Easy

Easy iron-on! Buy a cheap cotton shirt and computer iron-on paper. They sell ink jet printable paper that will iron on to a cotton shirt. Just follow directions on the iron on paper pack. Keep in mind they make 2 different kinds of ironing paper one for light colored clothing and one for dark colored clothing.
