Patrotic Banner
This is the banner we made to dress up the fireplace in the living room for the up coming 4th. I used my new Martha Stewert score board to make the fancy cute paper flower rosettes, burlap and lots of patrotic scrapbook paper. Turned out so cute! need to make on in the fall for Halloween.
4th of July 2012
As always the night before the fourth we do a fire pit with hot dogs, marshmallows, s'mores, chips and other sweet tooth goodies with family and friends at our house. At dark we set off enough fireworks to fill 4 garbage cans full... at least that's how many garbage cans it takes to clean up the mess!! lol Then in the morning on the 4th of July off to North Jackson for their parade. We usually after the parade hit up the Trumbull County fair but it was just way to hot this year being in the upper 90's. Then family and friends gather again at our house for a hug spread of picnic food and desserts!!!
Dean's Drive-In Theater- Backyard Movies
Well for Christmas I asked Santa for a projector. I wanted a projector which hooks up to a VCR/DVD player and will project movies on a screen. A King sized bed sheet works great for the screen hung on the back of the garage and we also used a old stereo to have better sound. So with that said, The Dean's Outdoor Drive-In Movies was open for business. We have really enjoyed the using of the projector and doing movies in the backyard on warm summer nights along with the company of family and friends. We usually do a fire as well for hot dogs, marshmallows and s'mores!! So yummy!! Then after snacks we settle in and watch a movie under the stars.
Kaitlyn's got her chair ready for the movie to begin! Next to her you can see the projector on top of the VCR/ DVD player and the stereo and speaker to give us that theater sound. |
This is cousin Garret and Kaitlyn roasting marshmallows and in the background on the back of the garage is are large movie screen. |
Fire for hot dogs, marshmallows and s'mores is one of the favorite pass times around here on the weekends! |

Garage Sale Season 2012
One way I found to enjoy my Hobby Crafting on a budget is to garage sale. I always find the greatest things for cheap to create $$$$ new big priced items or crafting supplies to contiune to help me be creative. I also use craigslist when looking for special items I need. I also like that my sister and I get to hang out. Soon to come is some of the great buys I got and what I did with those great buys. So thank good for garage sale season and craigslist or I would be totally be broke 24- 7!!!! lol
We Love to Fish
So one thing we like to do as a family is fish! So we try to get as much fishing in as possible. The funny thing is the best fishing is always on vacation to Lake Chautauqua, NY.
Kaitlyn and her Barbie pole and that pole works wonders catching the fish! |
One evening out fishing on Lake Milton, OH Kaitlyn caught this minnow by hand...now that is some great fishing to catch them by hand! lol |

Baby Silkie Chicks 2012
We raise Silkies Chickens. They are a smaller bantam chicken who will hatch they're own eggs with a rooster. We also incubate eggs and it's a great learning experience. They look like big white snow balls. The great thing is that they are great with my 4 year old daughter. I'm hoping my daughter will be a 4-H Clover in about 2 years and she will show her chickens.
This Picture was taken on Easter Sunday this year 2012. This was a great Easter gift are first baby chick for the season!
This is one of the big fluffy white snow ball hen.
This is one of the roosters.
This is a picture of the newly hatched baby chicks in the incubator.
This is my daughter Kaitlyn with one of her roosters. See how docile they are. Kaitlyn picks the roosters right up a normal rooster would scratch your eyes out! lol
One of the off colored hens I have but she is really good about hatching and taking care of babies. One thing about hens is they all lay and they all sit even if it's not all their own eggs they sit on.
